Today's theme at The Gallery is Expressions. As it's almost a year since I flew home to welcome this little chap into the world, I thought I would use this photograph (with my sister's permission of course!). It was such a privilege to be there! As much as I love his expression at his arrival into the world, I will never forget my sister's expression at being given her baby for the very first time (and I am not sure how I managed to take it through my tears!). If there's something I do regret about moving away from home, it's missing out on my nephew! I can't believe he's almost a year old and I can't wait to see him very soon to give him a huge cuddle for his first birthday.
You can read about my mad dash to be at his birth here...

Ahh you have made me cry! I can't believe it's a year either!! (We are very lucky to have such a special photo, thanks for being there, I was so pleased you made it especially as we thought it was a false alarm) We wish you were here too but we know that what you are doing is definitely the best thing for your family. We love you all very much and can't wait to see you. (You do realise I'm going to book you for number 2 don't you!!)

Is there something you need to tell me?? xxx
ReplyDeleteThat's really special to have been there when he was born. I don't think I would like to see a baby being born, esp after doing 3 times myself!!!
ReplyDeleteI can't believe that a newborn can have such strong facial expression...or maybe I just forgot!! Has he changed much?
WOW! Thankyou for sharing such a special moment! Truly beautiful x
ReplyDeleteI have tears in my eyes too! The moment a parent lays eyes on their child the first time is big, very big. Fantastic you made the big moment.
ReplyDeleteBabies have great expressions. Hugs and thank you for sharing such a wonderful but difficult time for you. Being away from family is hard. x
ReplyDeleteThanks Ladies! It was an incredible moment, and I was lucky to make it! The only thing I found hard was knowing how much pain she was in!! Yes Achan, he has changed a lot, he has lots of hair now and is on the move! Luckily I think he kind of remembers who I am when I see him!

ReplyDeleteOh my god, amazing. I so wish I'd had an extra person at my births to take photos straight away. Nice photos. Flattering photos. Not shots of my face with HUGE bags under my eyes, sweaty forehead, red cheeks and a bit of blood thrown into the mix somewhere!!
ReplyDeleteThat's the best photo I've seen in the blogosphere for some time. I absolutely love it. x
